The National Conference "Geological Heritage: a resource to protect and enhance " held on 29 and 30 April at the Stone of Castaldi (PZ) and organized by the Department of Geological Sciences of the University of Basilicata, the SIGEA and the Order of Geologists of Basilicata, was another big step towards the promotion and dissemination of geological culture at national level.
Numerous and oral communications ( the program here) and posters presented, framed within less than 5 sessions :

the last session of the conference, dedicated to the geological heritage as an economic resource, Pietro Blu Gianni made a communication "Protection and enhancement of the geological and caving - the new law local tradition and strategies land use ". During the presentation he started from the context in that gave birth to the new LR 33/2009, which protects and enhances the geological heritage and caving, and have been highlighted in the goals and strengths. In the second part of the statement we wanted to show the way forward for the effective implementation of the LR or the opportunities they offer the Regional Territorial Landscape Plan (PPTR) Puglia in the approval process, the many forms of nature conservation and biodiversity that synergy should be involved, creating a truly alternative and sustainable tourism.
